IF ...immovable

If you're from Corsica originally, there's not much to like about Moscow in November. Particularly in 1812. Still, if you're a self-declared emperor, braving the cold front is better than returning to France to a chorus of: "J'ai dit ainsi a' vous!" "J'ai dit ainsi a' vous!" "J'ai dit ainsi a' vous!" I wouldn't want to have any bonapart of that either.

Coffee Mugs

Our ham-fisted friend, Captain Kirk, is purported to have said: "A meeting is an event where minutes are taken and hours are wasted." Silly captain. With a mug of coffee and sketchbook ...problem solved!

IF ...atmosphere

"Imagination is more important than knowledge." Imagine what important people who don't know this do with themselves... (?)
I imagine Einstein sorted it all out long ago. I just know it.

Coffee Mugs

Deja Brew: The feeling that you've sipped this coffee before.
Ask your barista how recently she's refreshed the coffee pot. If she starts expounding on the virtues of multi-grain scones, and artichoke-bread know that all is not well in your coffee house of choice. At this point it is socially acceptable to leap over the counter and sing loudly off key until a fresh pot has been dripped. This is no time to waffle ...(OR scone for that matter)

IF ...star gazing

If anybody gazes at the stars they must compete ogle-wise with Stephen Hawking, or perhaps just gaze at Stephen specifically, who has himself become a star in his own right. ...who's really gazing at whom here?

Coffee Mugs

It's rather difficult to drink hot coffee without lips. Professional coffee drinkers at Peet's arrive equipped with professional grade lips, which previous to entry, have been warmed up and stretched to optimal performance capability. There are those who go for the "elite" gear which includes lip balms, Buccinator straps and Levato labii superioris alaeque nasi sheaths. ...all a waste of money that could be better spent on a hot cup of Joe. And then there's the sad botox people who try to look pro, but always end up spilling all over themselves and the table.
Oh the shame

IF ...caged

Al Capone was caged in the end --but he always insisted: "I am like any other man. All I do is supply a demand." He aimed to please; if the public wanted whiskey, he gave them whiskey, if the public wanted bloody valentines, he obliged... if the public wanted a crinolined curtsey, he may have had to draw the line, or maybe this was his own personal, private cage unto himself.
(who really knows?)

Coffee Mugs

Little tiny round tables with more than one coffee drinker sitting at them are actually quite hilarious when you think about it... Must have been a tea drinker who slipped in the idea of pancake size stands as de regueur in most all coffee shops. Of course, at home, Mr. Tea Drinker has a nice long fancy coffee table in front of his davenport; ...it occurs to me that perhaps by spending big bucks, one could get a decaffeinated coffee table, and you likely wouldn't be able to tell the difference. (?)
With the folks below, it really doesn't matter either way...

IF ...artificial

Frankenstein's monster may just as well be around in the 22nd century for all I know; by which time equal rights will have extended to artificial beings: droids, robots, and do-it-yourselfers like Mr. Monster here. If one group is allowed to have avatars, then ALL groups should have equal access. Ladies and gentlemen I give you.... a future Prometheus!
