Lucy In Disguise (part 1)

Time for the next Quadrocoil.
This will unfold slowly ~much in the same fashion as the last one (Damn Yankees). The subject is the cast of of "I Love Lucy" and will carry the Beatles 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' as its leitmotif. Below we have a couple of head studies, as well as a few explorations for the overall composition. These were actually started a few months back. The final will be brush & ink as is my wont. I won't want to waver from my wont, so I won't... the will just went.

Coffee Mugs

"Life is like riding a bicycle - in order to keep your balance, you must keep moving." ~That Albert Einstein sure was a clever guy; likely drank coffee to get moving on his bicycle in the mornings.

IF ...spooky

Could you be mine?
This high minded philosophical quandary was pondered daily by our companionable homie, Mr. Rogers. The question itself is rather harmless, ~it's the attendant insistence that gets a tad disconcerting...
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?

Coffee Mugs

It has been said that bicycling runs on fat and saves you money, while driving a car runs on money and makes you fat. ha ha ha... I believe adding coffee to the mix makes the cyclist more engaged, and the driver more enraged. hee hee hee
(I'm biased)

IF ...transportation

Our mutual friend, Charles Dickens, had the capacity to transport millions to his personal Britain with a flick of his pen and the pulse of his literary mind. Ranging from humor to mystery, from social comment to holiday stories, he fictioned, non-fictioned, played and poetried. He even sketched... ~see below for my sketches of the Boz.

Coffee Mugs

No one knows for certain WHAT someone puts in their coffee... this is often top secret information and can range from the standard half/half~Splenda mix to the more covert margarine~honey-mocha~hazelnut gallimaufry...(bleh.) ...be careful. Sipping from the wrong cup may cause chronic cranial convulsions, dyspepsia, or at best a chaotic scattershot of steaming salmagundi...aimed squarely at your friend.
ha ha.

IF ...beneath

High cheek bones, high octave range, lived high up in the canyons, highly skilled in songwriting, highly skilled on guitar, high on life, and high on...
~~with all these lofty attributes it's no wonder so many felt beneath Joni Mitchell, looking up at the under~side of her clouds.
