Coffee Mugs

Most everyone has an egg in their mouth. This hidden orb is what you really need wrap the lips around to get the form of the lower face to be convincing. This may seem startling, but it's far better than having egg on your face.

  1. Always fun drawings :) Don't know how I missed Cyrano, but love it!

  2. After weeks of neglect, I logged on and caught up with your work--I'm in awe and very jealous. All fabulous, although the MC Esher was unnerving. All it takes is a keen mind, a quick wit, and decades of hard work. I'm looking forward to the next 100.

  3. I love that first guy with the super cool jacket and (apparently) an egg in his mouth. And the crazy long delicate fingers. But then the second guy, where's the egg? I believe you about the egg, but where does it go? Which side of the egg protrudes? Arrgh, I just don't do people. I like beasts. Of course, some of your people are beasts. Maybe I should try some people. With hair covering most of their faces and an egg in their mouths. :)

    1. Thanks Cindy.
The egg is really the understructure of the dental mass including the bones holding the teeth; everyone has a different size egg in their mouth just as they have different sized noses. For some folks it rests farther back in the face causing a sinking area for the teeth mass, others, say number 3 here, have it protruding outward from the frontal face plane so much that the viewer feels to be in danger of some sort. The last fellow here (#4) has quite an underbite, and so has what I'd call a split egg: half an orb for the bottom area -protruding, and a sinking half an orb for the top...(to say nothing of the ostrich eggs ruling his gut).

The egg is invisible, but its presence is seen.

You SHOULD do some people. Some Copic couples would be nice... and keep in mind that most animals have eggs in their mouths as well. (some have them other places too...)

  5. I like the theory behind the eggs...I must admit to having thought the third drawing, the large glasses and teeth, was female...now, having read Alice's comment, I'm torn...great set of drawings and interesting post as usual.

    1. Number 3 is indeed female.
The drawing can be gender misleading I'll admit.
She did look like this, though.
So I hereby abandon all responsibility for the rest.
