Phthalo Moons ~cold

COLD MOON

The Cold Moon has the longest night reign of all the full moons as the nights are the longest in December.  He's out there all night long for all to see ...but most everyone is indoors because it's too cold and too dark outside.
~no one wants to catch a cold in winter.

IF ...glow

"We will make electricity so cheap that only the rich will burn candles."  Thomas Alva Edison's major improvements to the incandescent lightbulb sent a glow through the globe, and it was finally possible to see the 99% perspiration beading from the 1% inspiration.

Phthalo Moons ~beaver

BEAVER MOON

This particular full moon was named after the beaver as it was the best light and last good chance by which the beavers could get themselves situated for the cold winter.  This light was also excellent for capturing and skinning these same beavers...

Coffee Mugs

The glue to consistently satisfying drawings is your enthusiasm.  Without it your separate skills never congeal, and your drawing drifts to aimlessness, or deflates to merely competent.

IF ...snow

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely , dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

IF ...whiskers

Considered to be one of the more incompetent Civil War generals for the Army of the Potomac, Ambrose Burnside's dubious claim to fame was his peculiar whisker configuration; which was so well known that for a time they were called 'Burnsides' by anyone wearing them. ~~Somewhere along the way the syllables were reversed and the whiskers have been referred to as sideburns ever since.

IF ...zoom

After only 82 days as Vice President for FDR, Harry S Truman zoomed to the presidency and onto the world stage in a role he never overtly sought.  World War, Atom bomb, Israel, Dewey defeats, Korean War, McCarthyism, assassination attempt, MacArthur, and the Cold War.
You never know what you'll end up with once you azoom the presidency...

IF ...tree

Two full years living with the trees, the birds, the insects, the elements and of course the pond at Walden had Henry David Thoreau living the 'simple life' and in the process become the beacon for quiet revolutions.

You'll never be satisfied if you draw to meet your expectations.  It's much better to allow exploration to be your goal, and more often than not you'll find that expectations you didn't know you had will be met.
