IF ...haunt

Banned for life from baseball along with 7 other White Sox players for involvement in the 1919 'Black Sox' scandal (where several players conspired to intentionally lose the World Series to the Cincinnati Reds), Shoeless Joe Jackson was by some accounts not entwined --other camps have him squarely involved... With the 3rd highest career batting average in baseball history he haunts the halls of The Baseball Hall of Fame.

Phthalo Moons ~blood

BLOOD MOON

Hunting and stockpiling for the winter, this particular full moon allowed the hunters to aim well and drain correctly; most importantly it assured they didn't miss and force a blood donation from anyone without prior concent...

IF... sky

Bishop Milton Wright brought home a toy helicopter for his two boys, Wilbur and Orville, to play with.  They broke it.  And then proceeded to make their own.  Years later they built an even bigger flying machine.

IF ...water

Harry Houdini wouldn't let anything tie him down, least of all water.  He dramatically escaped from a sealed milk can (filled with water), an Overboard River box, and even upside-down in a Chinese Water Torture cell.
He was thirsty for fame, notoriety and love.
~~water the chances of that?

IF ...mirror

Alice Liddell may not have completely recognized herself in Lewis Carroll's 'Through the Looking-Glass'; even though she was the impetus for the character of Alice, there was little of the actual child in the story according to Mr. Carroll.
Still and all it put her on the map, fictional and actual...
an uffish thought indeed!

IF ...book

"It was a pleasure to burn."
Guy Montag gradually awakened from his blissful ignorance by slowly sampling the literary contraband... It wasn't long before he found himself hounded and a candidate for booking procedures. Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 predicted a future that in many ways has already arrived.
"If you hide your ignorance, no one will hit you, and you'll never learn".
