Coffee Mugs

Holden complained that 'people never notice anything' ~as true as that might have been 60 years ago, it's ever so accurate in today's world of hurry and impatience. It's all down to the second, and which device can find which result in which microscopic fraction of that second. Good lord! Speed is unavoidable, but it's important to take the time to notice the people around you and what's really going on with them, and what they're really about...(uh, and what they look like).
okay. good. ...so now where's my mug of caffeine?

IF ...winter

The good, the bad and the snugly. ...or, maybe not. ~our Clint Eastwood made a fine career out of being cold and distant, except for the occasional foray into romance (with bridges) and silliness (with orangutans) for which, by some, he remains unforgiven. Still, even in the winter of his career, he's looking for someone to go ahead and make his day.

Coffee Mugs

Hands sometimes tell us more about the personality than does the face or expression. They are much less guarded and much more expressive. They can also confuse... as George Carlin once said: "When you step on the brakes your life is in your foot's hands".

IF ...mail

Among his hundreds of other responsibilities, in 1775 the 2nd Continental Congress appointed Ben Franklin Postmaster General (as opposed to Postmaster Specific). He folded his duties into his pocket, put his stamp on the office, and was often found to be pushing the envelope...

Coffee Mugs

People are ground at different levels. What level they're granulated at becomes evident after a cursory gander ~some are rugged and coarsely ground, while others are a powdery fine grind. There are even those who are just crunched up by being tossed on the floor and stomped on... it's these folks that you must keep an eye on. The very young have only a cursory grind imposed on them, and then there's the infants who are innocent and unmilled. We call them Beanie Babies.

IF ...phenomenon

From cornflakes and classics to smelly candyfloss, Elton John was always a sight to see, hear, and behold... invariably taking a couple of vodker and tonics to set you on you on your feet again.

Sometimes you look in the mirror and nobody's there.
Sometimes it's better that way.

IF ...prehistoric

"Great theories are expansive; failures mire us in dogmatism and tunnel vision." Stephen Jay Gould lived in the present while studying the prehistoric past and was himself a bridge facilitating the relevance of one to the other. ~~big fan of baseball as well!
It was a wonderful life.

Coffee Mugs

It seems that various types of people can be categorized under certain animal rubrics; you've seen them: there are horsey humans, fishy folk, bird beings, possum people, and even iguanaesque individuals!
Some are happy about it, some are oblivioius, some try in vain to hide the fact ...but we can always tell.
