Holden complained that 'people never notice anything' ~as true as that might have been 60 years ago, it's ever so accurate in today's world of hurry and impatience. It's all down to the second, and which device can find which result in which microscopic fraction of that second. Good lord! Speed is unavoidable, but it's important to take the time to notice the people around you and what's really going on with them, and what they're really about...(uh, and what they look like).
okay. good. ...so now where's my mug of caffeine?

James knew who it was right away and gave me a chubby cheek squeeze. He hasn't done that for a while..the pest. The drawing of Alan is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteBut, Rick, speed is life, or, as Maverick put it so eloquently, "I feel the need for speed!"
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful! You do not need me to tell you (I will, ahem,...tell you anyway,) you are a master-practitioner of the art of reporting . In these drawings you have so perfectly given us an essence, I see it so well in these marvelous, beautiful people. Thanks for leaving the gesture line is, by the way. They really are fun- one of the reasons I like Levine slightly more than Hirschfeld.
Sorry, that should read "leaving the gesture line IN."
ReplyDeleteFor those followers of yours who've never had the pleasure of watching you breathe life into a drawing, they must be told how captivating it is to watch you analyze, dissect, exaggerate, and then repackage your subject into a mini-masterpiece in a matter of minutes. Talk about speed and agility! You remain an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteVery enjoyable. Alice and Alan are leading into life with their noses.
