IF ...crooked

Many were the hoofers who imitated Michael Jackson's mesmerizing dance steps, but few were the posers who could actually pull it off in any convincing way.
...it must have been the socks.

  1. Boy could he sing and dance! Jackson was pure genius at the top of his game; spoiling his fans with the liquidity and direction-defying movement of his famous Moon Walk. The world watched as he became progressively crooked-er, morphing into the skeleton of his former majesty. It was all so sad and creepy.

(And you do creepy REALLY well. This piece gives me the total shivers! Good illo, Richard!)

  2. Fortunately, I never tried to imitate MJ...we were different builds...True, as Mardi says this is fairly creepy, reminding us at the same time how creepy he was, both alive and dead.

  4. An unexpected choice for this week's theme, but you're right. It definitely works! I agree with "creepy" too!

  5. although he was not my favorite singer I have to admit he had considerable qualities of excellent movements.......

I found these "elasticity" movements back in your drawing....... very well done!!

  6. I think that it was the glove. I love the tangled up movement, it gives my eye so many paths to roam and double back on..in fact it feels like the moon walk. Creepy face and soooooo Michael Jackson. The shapes against the simple background are great as is the depth created with the atmospheric perspective.

  9. Fantastic! His movement was always rather otherworldly and you've captured that so wonderfully with the crazy position of his limbs. Fun and weird! And I think I am glad you didn't pick that horrid McDowell character from A Clockwork Orange!
