IF ...glow

"We will make electricity so cheap that only the rich will burn candles."  Thomas Alva Edison's major improvements to the incandescent lightbulb sent a glow through the globe, and it was finally possible to see the 99% perspiration beading from the 1% inspiration.

  1. Wonderful! I love the browns and the glow in the lightbulb. So much character!

  2. Wow--what a fabulous portrait. I really like the planes of his face, and how the bulb seems to be creating the wind of energy that is pulling his hair (and face) away from the source. And the color is fabulous too!

  3. Your little sketches are fabulous and funny and Edison is de-Ligthful. i love the way that you used the radiating energy from the light bulb to organize the composition. The portrait itself is masterful with those impressive eyebrows and the folds of flesh, but I aways get drawn to the details such as the tie and the buttons.
