Cooped up for eons in obscurity is not all it's cracked up to be and leaves one desperate to pop the cork off a bottled existence. Barbara Eden went from relative anonymity to icon with sex appeal in a blink of an eye and a shake of her head
...a GOOD way to hit the bottle.

I watch the reruns of this TV show when I was a child. She was beautiful. I remember her evil cousin...or it was her sister?
ReplyDeleteLovely ♥
I believe it was her evil sister ~~also played by Barbara Eden!
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS! My favorite illo of the entire theme.
ReplyDeleteGood concept and likeness! I had a feeling you'd choose Barbara Eden for your subject this week. The details of her costume, headdress, and bottle are good supporting props, but it's the eyes that are unmistakably Jeanie. It's nice to actually see her in color - as growing up, we had only a black and white TV. The detail on the bottle of your second pencil reminds me of my favorite drawing professor ... he can place ellipses upon ellipses with a blink on an eye. I also like your cleverly hidden your signature as well.
ReplyDeleteJeannie had a posh set up inside her bottle. Maybe that's why she looks a bit unhappy about coming out of it? I'm feeling a little inspired to find reruns of the show on Hulu or someplace :) Nice job as always!
ReplyDeleteGreat one Richard. I always had a crush on Jeannie when I was a kid and on her sisiter too ;O) She used to live here in Chicago. I caught a glimpse of her driving her car once in 1979, but she wasn't wearing her Jeannie outfit :(
ReplyDeleteHey, what Jack said! But I didn't catch a glimpse of her driving a car, ever.
ReplyDeleteNice flow in the composition Richard, thanks for showing the process again!
cheers from oz
Talk about compression and release. That is a tight fit! I love the come and go of the hair and the flow of the hair. The little accent of the bottle top is just enough to suggest the ground plane. looks to me like she has done something naughty again and is afraid of getting trouble.
