In a medieval shire in a galaxy far, far away a potion ingested by mild Dr. Yoda induced his metamorphosis into the demonic Mr. Gollum, thereby tendering his dual personality for all to see. His initial hesitancy in taking the potion was quelled by an onlooker shouting: "JUST DU ET!"

Wow, simply shocked. That's really really great! And very original, congrats :)
ReplyDeleteIncredible. Richard love your work. I've never thought of Gollum and Yoda as similar characters, although now that they're together on your page they're practically green brothers (except for the pointy ears that is).
ReplyDeleteWonderful stuff!! Excellent!
ReplyDeleteSo it's true ... even Yoda had a dark side. Your illo is so intriguing and unnerving at the same time, Richard. The subtle and lively shifts in the greens play well with this duet. I especially like the eyes - all four rendered at different levels of completion. And Yoda's curly fluff above his ears hint at his mercurial nature. Truly, in the realm of picture making, you are the Jedi master.
ReplyDeleteI just love your Gollum! So expressive! Makes me laugh to think of him as Yoda's evil twin :D
ReplyDeleteThis is just fabulous. I marvel at both characters in their respective roles and yes what a pair they would make, the ying to the yang, the Jekyll and Hyde that we all shift in and out of...the eyes being the window to the soul is very well played here.
ReplyDeleteI love viewing your posts, they remind me to loosen up and let the emotions truly flow through the given piece making them more honest, I hope.
Expressive yet delicate work. The blend of the two is very well done. I especially like the way alignmnet of the top of the head and the mouth. The way the form moves form defined to vague is masterfully done.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting duet Richard. Very cool! Fantastic line work.
