IF ...popularity
Even more than his 5th cousin, Teddy, Franklin D Roosevelt could claim to be the most popular president in American history ~~being the only one elected 4 times in a row! Had he lived to see more than the 82 days of his final term he would have clocked in 16 straight years of executive privilege.

This makes me smile just looking at it. You've captured his charisma beautifully. I like the subtlety of the crowd - especially the 'thumbs up' – and his kind eyes. Another '10'.
ReplyDeleteInteresting...and nicely done.
ReplyDeleteWas he elected for his even features or his good ideas? Good Artwork.
ReplyDeleteSaw this today. thought it was pretty neat and reminded me of what we talked about a little bit in the rendering class. http://itokyoshoes.deviantart.com/favourites/#/d2xu6ph
ReplyDeleteTHe composition is great. I love the solid white glasses and how he is entering from the right edge of the paper. The illustration is quite joyous and a little dark at the same time. I never seen FDR so full with joy. From what I have seen of him, he is very reserved. I like this new POV. He really seems like a politician.
ReplyDeleteWhat and energetic and appealing portrait of a great man. I like the lack of color on the right edge..I don't know why. I just like it. The crowd is suggested nicely. I can hear the cheering.
ReplyDeleteBright and upbeat, so optimistic, the different levels of finish and focus are orchestrated in unison. Fine flow.
ReplyDeleteGreat likeness! This might be my favorite of your portraits so far. Love the composition too with the color, crowd, and how you break the outer edges. Applause :)
