A farewell address that read somewhat like a prophecy, Dwight David Eisenhower's omenizing about the military-industrial complex was more a 'good luck' than a 'good bye'.
...just like Ike

Very striking composition! Although the likeness and painting of Eisenhower is masterful, I can't take my eyes off the dove - and the sad visual metaphor. The piece provokes a lot of my own disappointments about American realities.
ReplyDeleteOn a happier note, the cast shadows are so cool.
Mardi's comments are so well put. So I'll just say, "what she said." :) Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI agree with both ladies. And the wired peace dove .... makes really very exciting composition.
ReplyDeleteTo add...I find the hues and shades exciting. As usual another great work.
ReplyDeleteWow, those eyes! Terrific likeness and very cool composition.
ReplyDeleteWow really impact full. The use of the washes against the line ... Very
ReplyDeleteEffective. Strong image
ReplyDeleteThis piece presents a strong impact. Poor dove. The painting of the cut out and the wire is just amazing. I also like the contrast between the tightness of those elements vs the loose wash and subtle colors of Eisenhower.
