IF ...farewell

A farewell address that read somewhat like a prophecy, Dwight David Eisenhower's omenizing about the military-industrial complex was more a 'good luck' than a 'good bye'.
...just like Ike

  1. Very striking composition! Although the likeness and painting of Eisenhower is masterful, I can't take my eyes off the dove - and the sad visual metaphor. The piece provokes a lot of my own disappointments about American realities.

On a happier note, the cast shadows are so cool.

  2. Mardi's comments are so well put. So I'll just say, "what she said." :) Have a great weekend.

  3. I agree with both ladies. And the wired peace dove .... makes really very exciting composition.

  7. This piece presents a strong impact. Poor dove. The painting of the cut out and the wire is just amazing. I also like the contrast between the tightness of those elements vs the loose wash and subtle colors of Eisenhower.
