IF ...gesture

Marketing became priority number one in 1983 when the Star Wars franchise set out to concoct cutesy character designs that would be "irresistible" in the toy aisles... Hence the Ewoks (Wookiees spelled sideways?). Had Darth Vader been at the meetings, he surely would have had a gesture or two to tender.

  3. I am enjoying the color and the form/mark making in hand. I can feel the dark side in the hand's gesture.

  4. No wonder Darth wasn't invited to the meeting. Certainly, he'd have used his death grip on those gold diggers in a New York minute. But wait! That flower … it seems The Vader may be hesitating. Why, I think he might actually be smitten by it's underlying greed! It's so, so, well, evil.

Your line work is impressive, Obi-Wing, most impressive.
May the force be with you.
    (And also with you.)

  6. Auhh..poor little irritating flower. It is almost as irritating as my buttercup. I agree with Darth here and would loved to see the next frame. Great juxtaposition of evil forces. Darth has a beautiful/righteous energy. I lover the energy of the background as well

  7. I have thoroughly enjoyed your caricature art--how gifted you are! I have featured you and your artwork and blog on this week's FATuesday Artist Spotlight.

Your work is pithy and delightful.

  8. You've sharpened the helmet features and even given them their own expression and with the tension in the hand create a more evil Vader than usual.Another good caricature...You are it's Father.
