If ...fuel

Édouard Manet fueled the modernist movement with his revolutionary approach to light and form. His continually rejected art gave impetus to many younger upstart painters including Monet, Degas, Renoir, Cezanne, Pissarro and countless others into the next century.
An Olympian in his own right.

  1. I'd like to know where you get your fuel. By the time I finished commenting on your previous post, a new one is up. You are an amazing force of creativity.

I like the variety of patterns with the monochromatic color. Together, they add to his disgruntled-ness. If only he'd known that his influence was so tremendous. UI like the cat ... it plays with the mood.

It's inspiring to see your work.

  3. Very nice, very cool style. I always love progression posts, and this one is great. The cat is a perfect touch, particularly the way it breaks up the space at the top. I have a feeling you will continue to hear great things about the cat. ;)

  6. This great caricature of Manet is full of interesting geometry and subtlety of colour and light and will no doubt help fuel the eagerness of a new generation of up and coming caricature artists to succeed in this genre as you have.

  8. That was fast! Manet still provides fuel for inspiration for us older upstart painters as well. I love his expression and the use of black. The scared cat is a great touch.
