If you're from Corsica originally, there's not much to like about Moscow in November. Particularly in 1812. Still, if you're a self-declared emperor, braving the cold front is better than returning to France to a chorus of: "J'ai dit ainsi a' vous!" "J'ai dit ainsi a' vous!" "J'ai dit ainsi a' vous!" I wouldn't want to have any bonapart of that either.

Love it and love seeing the process, nice work
ReplyDeleteLove the angles and I too enjoy that you posted some of the work in progress!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture. Makes me smile :) But wasn't it 1912?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, and no... by 1912 even Napoleon the 3rd was dead and gone; France and the rest of Europe were getting all psyched up for World War One --it would have been interesting, however, to see how things would have turned out with Napoleon at the French helm in the 20th century.
ReplyDeleteThis is very funny, Rick. Napoleon's stature appears even smaller in this snow drift, and you've "captured" his frustration and determination superbly. Viva la caRickature!
ReplyDeleteI always love your solutions...and seeing the process. Reminds me I need to ink before color.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! great character and great coloring.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! Made me laugh - the expression is spot-on :)
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I clicked on.. I knew this was the little guy with the complex! Great one richard. You nailed his expression and hairdo perfectly! Love your take on the subject and your style. hey thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteWell, that is one great sour expression! I love your use of negative space here. Wonderful work as always, Richard. :)
