Toying with our emotions is stock and trade for actor Jack Nicholson; his characters can wind you up slowly and steadily only to slap you sideways ~creating a persona both appealing and repellent at once

Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteToo perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou captured jacks forceful character by illustrating it's refusal to stay in the box. The diagonals in the brushwork subtly support energy. the The hairline is perfect and the blood red inside the box is creepy. I also like the way that you used your Sig to create the pattern on the box. red rum.
ReplyDeleteYou've nailed him, Richard! Everybody likes Jack, even though he's got a little bit of creep tucked inside. In fact, that's what we like the most about him, and what keeps us coming back for more. Your exaggerated perspective really amplifies this feeling. Bravo, great drawing! Love the pool of blood. too.
ReplyDeletehaha, so great, the rough drawing of him looks really sinister
ReplyDeleteThis scares me a bit and also makes me laugh :D
ReplyDeleteYou are also toying with the emotions of the spectators on this one, Fantastic!
I really like how it turned out. But jack in the boxes really creep me out.
ReplyDeletePerfect! I love seeing the step-by-step process.
ReplyDeleteOh that's Jack to a T! You have a way of utilizing every line to bring out a person's characteristics.
ReplyDeleteLooks like he's from the land of misfit toys.
Ha! I like it!!!
ReplyDeletePerfect Richard! You captured that sly expression to a tee. I was half expecting Richard Pryor or Jackie Gleason from the movie The Toy... This is a 1000000 times better! NICE!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's definitely captures the creepy side of Jack. Don't want to find that toy in my toybox. Great Work!
ReplyDeleteIt remember me the good-old-days of the joker! stupefacente.
ReplyDeletewicked: "both appealing and repellent at once" as you say. I keep looking but I'm afraid Jack's teeth will bit my finger off. Solid, square/cube composition
ReplyDeleteI like that you show the process, thank you for that. It is helpful somehow. You are a good writer as well.
ReplyDeleteAlex

ReplyDeleteThe sharp lines really imply action right away
