To admit that the waters around you had grown was not a warning well-heeded at the time Bob Dylan rang the clarion bell ---(although everything was a-changin')... soon after, Bob himself would a-change. Electrically. To the ironic dismay of many fans...
The curse it was cast.

I like the hand studies. Also really liking his hair. Always fun to see what you're going to do!
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, Dylan seems okay being washed over in this tropically warm sea. I love all the detail of his curls, and how they turn to sea spray. Your signature turning into a fish is very whimsical, Richard. Nice path too. I like your hand studies and Big Nose Bob concept too. Was his music blaring nonstop this weekend?
ReplyDeleteNo Dylan blaring this weekend, though one would think so... Instead, I had his semi~acolyte Josh Ritter on interminably. Bob is okay with the sea because he feels he's above it all ~~being just a song and dance man. HA!
ReplyDelete(That one hand took me a good part of the day to sort out... what's here are the least embarrassing studies I did).
beautiful subtle palette that still manages to vibrate ringing tones. digging the fly off texture of the hair. missing the meat on the right arm that is present in the first prelim sketch though... just a bit.
ReplyDeleteThis is great. I love your style, and Bob Dylan
ReplyDeleteInsights into Dylan are expressed with subtle clarity. The hands are well worth the time and effort. The red split with the blue-green, yellow-green have brings a refreshing lightness to the piece. This work is a pointed message delivered with eloquent, enticing speech.
ReplyDeleteFantastic!
ReplyDeleteBob Dylan ♥
the hand with the guitar pick looks great :)
This is really beautiful. I like the delicately rendered planes of the face. The hair especially is well done. It is all very fresh and Of course Dylan was still pretty fresh as well.
ReplyDeleteLove it, especially the hands. I always love your unique take on the prompts. Your creative portraits are always fun and I love looking at your preliminary sketches.
ReplyDeleteYour musician charicatures are so great! Love this Richard.Great process.
ReplyDeleteHi Richard, i love your style, and am totally in awe of your line work:)
ReplyDeleteOh bravo!!! I really love the way you've positioned the hands. Excellent work! And it's fascinating watching the deconstruction of your drawing. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work!! And so nice to see all the steps/sketches before the final. Love your drawings.
