IF ...launch

In 1962 the Cuban Missile Crisis was the closest the Cold War came to annihilating the world as we knew it. After 13 intense days of cat and mouse, JFK and Nikita Khrushchev opted to discuss further disputes over launch.
...or better perhaps, ~~supper.

  1. Khrushchev's red button hat is really funny ~ and deadly serious. He looks like a child having a temper tantrum. I doubt most people know how close our world was to total destruction. This piece is a nice transition and continuing theme from your post last week. :) I especially like the transparency - seeing bits and pieces of the drama as it unfolded over time. Very captivating!

  2. I agree with everything Mardi said. I really like this piece even though it's of an ugly guy in more ways than one. I especially like the red button hat and the vignettes too. I also like the way the color transitions from blue to red like he's about to bust his top, which adds to the urgency of the whole situation. Great job!

  4. I enjoy how Khrushchev is both the button and the missile. The Rauschenberg like transparencies are both in Khrushchev's head and a time passage. And another amazing and dangerous mouth too.
