IF ...midsummer night

Never send a woodland sprite to do a faerie king's job... but that's exactly what Oberon did on a midsummer night; the end result was everyone fell in love with the wrong person and others made asses of themselves. When asked to explain the snafu (summer's night all fowled up), Oberon simply spat out:
"Puck you"

  2. Richard, I wonder when the animation studios will be calling you, or Tim Burton himself. This illo is nothing short of terrific – your Puck is enchanting and magical and has enough creepiness that I can't stop circling around the composition for more. Love his stance too - especially his belly button. You are amazing.

  3. Ditto to all the comments. The composition, point of view and hands are just, as Jennifer said, "Brilliant". Nice use of red and green or maybe its more blue-green, yellow-green and red, but its light, magical, and haunting all at once. Great hands too.

  4. LOL You've just got to love Shakespeare! I mean seriously, I'm actually laughing at this. I just love his expression.

  5. Hey Richard

I just went to your web page! Yowza you have some great work there. And this piece - your distortions are superb - how we get the feel for the whole situation in such a dynamic manner.

And it's so kind of you to share your process.

  6. ha Puck...what a troublesome fairy. I love the forced perspective and the complementary colors.
I think that Shakespeare would have loved your Puck. You have captured the unpredictability of the alien creature..perhaps the wild side of Shakespeare after a sampling of some of that nectar.
