Coffee Mugs

Stressful situations often bring out the hidden character in people, or perhaps amplify the volume of their already evident inclinations. One is obliged to pay close attention to the hands, eyes, head tilts and ears... which are the soul's guide to the underworld.

  1. I like this group of sketches a lot..great lines..look like you used a very fine fountain pen? I like the different angles/perspectives superimposed on the top one. No.2 looks as if he's about to melt under stress..or at least he looks like he wants to.Bottom two very recognisable and amusing stress faces.

  2. One's response to stress is as unique as your depictions. From the top post down, I see the ADHD personality in full blown defense, the sweat from a used car salesman, a 'quiet' feminine 'stew', and finally the laser gaze – indicating abject indignation and territoriality. Funny, funny stuff, Richard Ewing. Wonderful lines and textures, with spot-on exaggerations.

  3. The first sketch is really brilliant. They are all great sketches. The details are handled so well. I especially love the eyebrows and hair on the last post. The second candidate looks like he really needs a drink.
