    1. Thanks Rod. I was wondering if anyone would notice the earrings. ~a bit on the subtle side...

  5. So cool what you do with the colors! I'm so glad you didn't give her some grotesque features because I happen to think she was pretty cool. I will say I liked the hair a tiny bit more in the final sketch before color. Maybe because it had more defined shape? Either way, lovely! Great portrait!

  6. Such a classy portrait! The soft washes of color add to the quiet beauty of this piece. It looks like you had a lot of fun detailing her hair. The contrast of tight against loose is very engaging. Nicely done! What is the detail on her dress? It seems to be letters, but I can't solve the puzzle.

    1. No puzzle on her dress, (not that that stopped men from wondering about that area...) ~the pattern is loosely based on an organic pattern of vines and leaves etc... I did however fold an annoying Arches watermark into one of the leaves at the bottom there. Might be more visible on the original.
      The hair WAS fun.
The earings were more of a chore than they should have been.

  8. Perfect person for "hitched"! I've always felt a bit sad for Liz since she never seemed to understand how to keep happiness. Love the earrings :)

  9. An elegant portrait of a person with overly elegant expectations. she looks like she is trying very hard to capture the perfect angle. The bust and the form of the dress are very well articulated and I love the dash of purple in the eyes.
