IF... sky

Bishop Milton Wright brought home a toy helicopter for his two boys, Wilbur and Orville, to play with.  They broke it.  And then proceeded to make their own.  Years later they built an even bigger flying machine.

  1. Very cool, but rotor maintenance must be difficult!

  2. I particularly like the heavily waxed moustache as it appears to be attached in the Mr. Potato Head fashion. How very resourceful– the brothers packed an extra propellor in case of emergency. A very delightful image, Richard!

Enjoyed your thumbnails too - the top one is my fave.

  3. The mustache is pretty awesome. You really pushed the contrasts in this illustration and the cut paper affect works well with the allusion to being airborne. I really love the little sketches too.

  4. Definitely strange and interesting! And I agree about the fab mustache. Very cool combination of graphic effects and 2D/3D.

  6. Liking the development and integration of the cut out effect...floating just above the paper...it seems quite poignant here.
