IF ...mesmerizing

The early 1940s brought us the first teen idol. ~~Frank Sinatra mesmerized the women at home and infuriated the men fighting overseas. Ol' Blue Eyes then embarked on a career that had as many rises and falls as his bi-polar personality had ups and downs.
Still he did it his way.

  3. He must've been in a manic phase when you painted him :) This one cracks me up. Maybe it's that big smile. Cool take on Picasso too.

  4. Wow! You've been batting 1,000 lately. The expression is beautiful - both yours and Frankie's. Your illo emmotes a good feeling. I love all the lines, especially that flop of wiled hair. I can't stop looking … I must be mesmerized!

Great drawing, I would love to see one of Sammy Davis Jr. in your style :)

  7. Fun spin on Frank & the prompt. I read a bio years ago that talked about his, um, impulsive side. Can totally imagine this expression in his mirror

  8. The last time I drew Sammy was back in 2005 as part of a Rat Pack quadrocoil... so, yes, he's due.
I'll put him on the short list.
~get the IF people to make the next word Bojangles and we're good to go!

  9. Just the right amount of distortion and Frank's Zygomatic arch has echoes of a fast car. Well done!

  10. Very clean, slick and mesmerizing. Your line work is beautiful. Great suggestion of the period with the hair and the gabardine (sp?) jacket. There is a lot of tension behind that forced smile, but there is a genuineness of character behind it as well...and I can't stop looking into those intense blue eyes.

  11. Well I couldn't agree more. Ask my mom about Frank, and she'll tell you dozens of other things about him that you're not even asking! :)

Love your take on him, Richard.
